Today, the extra weight is gone.I still exercise every morning.I look and feel the best I have never done.Every area of my life has improved and benefited from this change in me.Not only do I have my youthful energy, looks and health back, but also I have more confidence than I have ever had.

3.Although many Chinese students say that their knowledge of English grammar is good, most would admit that their spoken English is poor. However, their spoken English does not have to remain"poor".I want to suggest that there may be some reasons for their problems with spoken English.
First, they fail to find opportune words to express themselves because of a limited vocabulary. However, they can speak with a limited vocabulary,if their attitude is positive.
Second, they are afraid of making mistakes.Sometimes they make mistakes when they are speaking because they are shy and nervous.Yet students should remember that their goal should be fluency not accuracy(準(zhǔn)確度).Their aim in writing is to be accurate following the rules of grammar and using the right words and spelling them correctly. However,in speaking, their aim is fluency. They want to talk to someone in English,as quickly and well as they can.Even though sometimes they may use a wrong word or tense,it doesn't matter.
The third reason is that not enough attention is paid to listening. All that hearing is necessary for them to start speaking.
Fourth, most Chinese students are passive(被動的) rather than active language learners.Instead of actively seeking out chances to improve their spoken English, they passively wait for speaking chances to come to them.If they have this active view, then, they will see English chances wherever they go.
If they do not use their English beyond the classroom, they will forget that English they know.Remember:USE IT OR LOSE IT!They can learn how to speak English better by speaking English more.
(1)Which of the following best explains"opportune"underlined in paragraph 2?
A.Suitable.
B.Various.
C.Scientific.
D.Familiar.
(2)When people speak English, they should focus on
A.grammar

C.a(chǎn)ccuracy
D.fluency
(3)What does the author suggest Chinese students do?
A.Pay more attention to writing.
B.Speak English as often as possible.
C.Learn English only in the classroom.
D.Wait for some speaking chances slowly.
(4)What can be a suitable title for the text?
A.The Effective Ways of Improving Spoken English.

Mary, Tom and Buddy Mary was a 17-year-old girl with long brown hair and pretty eyes. Every evening she would take her dog,Buddy, out for a walk before dinner. She had named her dog Buddy because it was very friendly to everybody it met. But Buddy never barked(叫) at anyone or any dogs when they were out for their walks.
One night, something strange happened. For the first time in its life, Buddy barked when they were taking a walk beside a forest.
"What's the matter,Buddy?" Mary asked.
Buddy replied in more barks.
All of a sudden, the wind grew stronger and the sky became cloudier. Mary decided to turn around and head back home. But before she could, a voice called out her name. Mary wanted to run but Buddy refused.
"Who's there?" Mary asked, trying to be calm.
A boy came out from the forest.
"Tom, is that you?" Mary asked the shy boy.
Tom looked down at the ground with his hands in his pockets.
"What are you doing,Tom? Have you been following me?" Mary asked.
