       Dine at Quincy Market
       Quincy Market has long been thought of as the social center of the city of Boston.In fact,Quincy Market was the first public market in the entire Boston.At this marketplace you can shop in more than 100 stores and find the perfect souvenirs.It is also a great place to grab a quick and cheap lunch,dinner or snack.

  • 2.Marigi worked deep in a forest in Nigeria,a country on the western coast of Africa.He is a logger who cuts down trees using a knife.The forest where he worked is in the Ondo State in Southwest Nigeria.But many trees in that forest have been lost to too much logging.
       The 61 -year-old father of two said that he could cut down over 15 trees anywhere in the forest,but he would be lucky to find only two now."During the time of my father,we had big trees but sadly what we have now are just small trees and we don't even allow them to grow tall enough before we cut them," Marigi said.
       After cutting down the trees,Marigi puts markers on them to let other loggers know that he is the owner.The cut-down trees,or logs,are then transported(運輸) by waterways and rivers to Nigeria's biggest city,Lagos.
       Trees in Nigeria are cut down to open land for farming or to feed the energy need of a growing population.From 2001 to 2021,Nigeria has lost 1.14 million hectares of tree cover.
       Months after cutting down the trees,Marigi returned to the forest to tie his 40 logs together so they could be transported.With other loggers,he paid for a boat to pull the logs through waterways from Ondo State to Lagos.
       They built simple houses on top of the logs to help protect themselves from the weather.Food was shared and they sang traditional songs to cheer themselves up.They did not sleep at night to make sure that the logs would not get away from the boat.The boat stopped at several places to pick up more loggers and their logs.A single boat can transport thousands of such logs.
       Marigi' s trip ended in Lagos where logs from Ondo State and other parts of the country came together.The logs were then cut and sold to users.

  • 3.Home to large numbers of elephants,India has some of the strictest elephant protection laws in Asia.Elephants have been granted (給予) the highest level of legal protection for wildlife.Strict bans exist on poaching (偷獵),and trading them,with heavy fines and prison sentences of up to seven years.
       China had been making efforts to protect its small population of elephants since the 1980s.Local authorities in areas with elephants such as Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture in Yunnan Province,have not only made efforts to move human populations away from elephant habitats but have also worked with private insurance companies to insure farmers' crops against damage caused by the animals.According to one report,the population of elephants in China nearly doubled between the 1980s and 2021 to about 300.
       While both India and China have made efforts to protect the elephant and some success had been achieved,danger still appears as conservation laws are often either flouted (輕視) or not implemented.Strengthening domestic (國內(nèi)的) laws is not enough.The animals now face the much more dangerous threat of climate change which calls for united action by these two leading economies.
       There are many opportunities for cooperation between New Delhi and Beijing on elephant protection.These could potentially include:formation of a cooperative institute for research on elephant conservation;joint efforts on reforestation to ensure the expansion of buffer zones (緩沖區(qū)) between animal populations and human settlements;the training of local populations that live near elephant habitats and have traditional knowledge of harmonious living with elephants;formation of a joint resource fund for building care facilities and to achieve set targets to increase the population of elephants through careful breeding.
       By doing so,India and China would promote economic growth through an ecological path and responsible ecotourism in not just the two nations but in Asia at large.Such joint efforts would also lead to better relations between the two countries.

  • 4.Procrastination (拖延癥) gets people into trouble--leaving tasks until the very last moment is a Pandora' s box of anxiety,uncertainty,and panic,but it's still a popular way of planning our time.The healthier opposite would be to get tasks done as soon as possible,right?Wrong.It's called precrastination (提前癥) and it can be just as unhealthy.
       Precrastination is not an uncommon phenomenon,driven by the desire to check things off one's to-do list,in order not to keep in mind those tasks which fill up headspace and become a source of stress.While this tendency might seem positive,it often leads to similar negative results as procrastination.In a 2014 study,college students were asked to carry a bucket (桶) to a finish line in the easiest way possible.They had two choices-- carry the bucket placed halfway down the path,or carry the bucket that was close to the finish line.To the researchers' surprise,most of the participants chose the bucket closest to them and carried it for a longer time,other than the one closest to the finish line to save themselves some effort.
       Those college students chose to get started on a task earlier,even if it meant spending more energy in the longer term.And that's the main problem with precrastination--it enables people to pay attention to urgent,easy-to-do tasks and get them out of the way quickly.But in doing so,people often leave important,more time-and-energy-consuming tasks for later,which they actually should have been saving their efforts for.Another shortcoming to precrastinating is the frenzy (瘋狂) that accompanies the satisfaction of getting tasks done early.This hurried frenzy can replace careful planning and thought,ending in the rushed completion of a task often with mistakes.
       Compared to procrastinators' low efficiency,hyper-diligence (過度勤奮) is commonly seen in precrastinators.However,the only practice that can actually help people better organize their tasks and lives is careful,strategic planning.Meanwhile,they should get better at saying no,and above all,keep in mind that quality is better than quantity.
