Ah,it was good to be a dewdrop.
The wind blew and the plant began to shake, tipping (使傾斜) the leaf. The dewdrop became frightened as it started to move towards the edge of the leaf. Why was this happening?Things were comfortable.Things were safe. Why did they have to change? Why?Why?
The dewdrop reached the edge of the leaf.It was sure that this was the end.The day had only just begun and the end had come so quickly. It seemed so unfair. It seemed so meaningless. It tried hard to do whatever it could to stay on the leaf, but it was no use.

4.A strong El Nino (厄爾尼諾暖流) causes the temperature around the world to rise. "That's how we will see the influences of climate (氣候) change'',says Michael Mann,a climate scientist at Penn State University.
The Great Barrier reef (礁) is far beyond its name.Coral (珊瑚) of all shapes, sizes and colors covers more than 130 ,000 square meters off the coast of Australia, making it the world's largest reef system with many amazing kinds of life under the sea.
But today the Great Barrier Reef is dying. The waters around the reef become warmer. That warming then causes the bleaching. The bleaching takes the color and the life out of the coral.Bleaching happens when the warm water and pollution drive away the living things that live on the coral and give it color.Within weeks, the reef could die, leaving behind a forest of lifeless, bone white coral.Scientists believe the bleaching may kill more than 15% of the world's coral. The Great Barrier Reef isn't alone. "This is the longest bleaching event ever recorded," says David Kline,a scientist.
But a bigger worry may be what the bleaching suggests about future climate change. "Climate change may be slow sometimes, but other times it takes great leaps forward," says Steve Palumbi,an ocean scientist at Stanford University.
Local solutions like reducing fishing and cleaning up pollution can help slow reef loss, but scientists say a global (全球的) problem requires a global solution.Nearly 200 countries agreed last year to work to keep global temperatures from rising more than 3 .6°F by 2100,but that goal will be hard to reach.

(3)After reading the article, you can learn that

5.Humans share the earth with different kinds of wildlife. However, many of our animal and plant friends may not be around for much longer.
According to the first report on biodiversity (生物多樣性) released by the United Nations in May 2019,1 million of earth's million species are in danger of extinction (滅絕),including amphibians (兩棲動物),marine mammals (海洋哺乳動物) and insects.
Humans are mainly to blame for this, according to the report. The world's population has more than doubled (from 3.7 to 7.6 billion) in the last 50 years.Humans have used more than a third of the world's land and 75 percent of freshwater supplies (供應(yīng)) to grow crops and keep livestock (牲畜).As a result, there are fewer habitats and natural resources available for animals,as well as more pollution.
Climate change is another reason. The world's coral reefs (珊瑚) are suffering from climate change. If the world warms up by another 0.5℃,coral reefs will be reduced in size by 70 to 90 percent, the report said. This has led scientists to believe that there could be a sixth mass extinction, the first to be caused by humans, according to the Guardian. There have been five mass extinctions before, the last being 65 million years ago. That was when dinosaurs went extinct.
To deal with this problem, many countries have taken action. For example,China started banning (禁止) ivory trading in 2016,China Daily reported.
According to HuffPost, there are things that we can do personally to save animal species. For example,we can avoid buying products that come from animals and use less water. "Each individual (個(gè)人) action has an effect and every person can make a difference," said Claudia Sobrevila from the Global Wildlife Program, according to the World Bank.
(1)What does the UN's report tell us?
A.Many species are at the risk of extinction.
B.Humans are not being friendly to animals and plants.
C.The earth is no longer a suitable place for wildlife.
(2)What are the two major causes of this problem?
A.A growing population and pollution.
B.Pollution and climate change.
C.Climate change and human activities.
(3)The possibilities of a sixth mass extinction shows that
A.the problem is serious
B.humans will go extinct as well
C.nothing can be done to save most animals
(4)Which of the following is NOT true according to the passage?
A.More than 30 percent of the world's land has been used by human beings.
