1221.How I Turned to Be Optimistic (樂觀的) I began to grow up that winter night when my parents and I were returning from my aunt's house, and my mother said that we might soon be leaving for America. We were on the bus then.I was crying, and some people on the bus were turning around to look at me.I remember that I could not bear the thought of never hearing again the radio program for school children to which I listened every morning.
I do not remember myself crying for this reason agajye.ai.In fact,I think I cried very little when I was saying goodbye to my friends and relatives. When we were leaving I thought about all the places I was going to see-the strange and magical places I had known only from books and pictures. The country I was leaving never to come back was hardly in my head then.
The four years that followed taught me the importance of optimism, but the idea did not come to me at once. For the first two years in New York I was really lost-having to study in three schools as a result of family moves.I did not quite know what I was or what I should be.Mother remarried, and things became even more complex (復雜的) for me.Some time passed before my stepfather and got used to each other.I was often sad,and saw no end to "the hard times".
My responsibilities in the family increased a lot since I knew English better than everyone else at home.I wrote letters, filled out forms, translated at interviews with Immigration Officers, took my grandparents to the doctor and translated there and even discussed telephone bills with company representatives (公司代表).
From my experiences I have learned one important rule:almost all common troubles finally go away!Something good is certain to happen in the end when you do not give up,and just wait a little!I believe that my life will turn out all right, even though it will not be that easy.

On the first level there is a wet lab,and a preparation area for astronauts entering and leaving the building. The second level has a dry lab,as well as a kitchen area. The third level functions as a sleeping area,as well as a sanitation pod and a garden area. The fourth level is an exercise and recreation area.
"Architecture on Earth plays a decisive role in the way we live," said AI SpaceFactory, the New York-based team behind the design. "On Mars, this role reaches a higher level of importance since architecture is the machine which keeps us alive."
AI SpaceFactory has been selected as the winner of NASA's 3 D-Printed Habitat Challenge, and awarded the top prize of $500,000.The competition challenged participants to create shelters out of recyclables and materials that could be found on deep-space destinations, like the Moon and Mars.
AI SpaceFactory was praised for the way it automated the building process---completing the building with nearly no human assistance in 30 hours. It was also applauded for its biopolymer basalt composite---a biodegradable (可由生物降解的) and recyclable material developed from natural materials found on Mars. After passing a series of NASA's tests, this material was found to be stronger than its concrete competitors.
"It's light, and it's strong, like an airplane," said Lex Akers from the Caterpillar College of Engineering and Technology at Bradley University, who was one of the competition judges. "That's going to be very important for these types of habitats."

B.No human assistance.

D.It passed NASA's a range of tests.
(4)What do you find this 3 D-printed habitat?
A.It costs a lot.

Here are the six job personality and work environment types based on Holland:
?Realistic (Doer) Prefers physical activities that require skill, strength, and coordination.Traits(性格特點)include:genuine, stable, and practical.Example professions include:architect, farmer, and engineer.
?Investigative (Thinker) - Prefers working with theory and information, thinking, organising, and understanding.Traits include:analytical, curious, and independent.Example professions include:lawyer, mathematician, and professor.
?Artistic (Creator)—Prefers creative,original,and unsystematic activities that allow creative expression.Traits include:imaginative,disorderly,idealistic,emotional,and impractical.Example professions include:artist,musician,and writer.
?Social ( Helper ) - Prefers activities that involve helping,healing,or developing others.Traits include:cooperative,friendly,sociable,and understanding.Example professions include:counselor,doctor,and teacher.
?Enterprising (Persuader)—Prefers competitive environments,leadership,influence,selling,and status.Traits include:ambitious,domineering,energetic,and self-confident.Example professions include:management,marketing,and sales person.
?Conventional (Organiser ) - Prefers precise,rule-regulated,orderly,and unambiguous activities.Traits include:efficient,practical,unimaginative,and inflexible.Example professions include:accountant,clerk and editor.
From a job personality standpoint, the idea is that "birds of a feather, flock together," and that people with the same personality type tend to enjoy working with each other. For example,Artistic people enjoy working with other Artistic people.Additionally, people with the same personality type tend to create a work environment that rewards thinking and behaving like that type. For example,an Artistic environment rewards creative expression.
When you're in an environment that supports your job personality, you act and feel more effective. The thing to remember is that job personality types are really just lenses on behaviour.Rather than assume you're just one job personality type,Holland suggests that you have interests with each of the 6 job personality types,in descending order, effectively creating 720 different job personality patterns.
(1)What could probably be the most important job personality of an ambitious sales manager?
A.Realistic.
B.Investigative.

(2)What does the underlined sentence mean in English and Chinese?
(3)According to the author, why is it necessary to work in an environment to match our job personality?發(fā)布:2024/5/23 20:38:36組卷:1引用:0難度:0.51226.
