When I was four years old，my master started training me hoping I could be a good horse.There was so much for me to learn.I learned to trot（小跑）and gallop（奔馳）steadily.I was taken to another farm next to the railway to get used to the thundering sound.My master never whipped（鞭打）me because I was always learning hard and well.Soon Mr.Gorden. my new master，came and took me to his house.
One autumn day，Mr.Gorden had to go to a distant town on business.On the way there was a lot of rain with a strong wind.When we came to the river，the water was so high that it nearly reached the wooden bridge.In one low part of the road the water was half-way up to my knees.
After Mr.Gorden finished his business，it was late in the afternoon.The wind was much stronger.As we went through the wood，I heard him say， "I wish we were out of this wood." Indeed，I thought so，but just then there was a great noise of wood breaking，and a big tree came crashing down through the other smaller trees and fell across the road right in front of us!It was frightening and I stopped immediately.
We had no choice but to go back to the crossroads and take the longer road round to the wooden bridge.It was nearly dark now.We could see water over the middle of the bridge.The moment my feet touched the first part of the bridge，I was sure something was wrong，and I stopped suddenly.
