People like living on Lamma Island because there are not too many people there. "This place is very quiet， " said Ross Lee，a resident of Lamma. "There are no buses or trains so I usually ride my bicycle to get to school.My new school is one and a half kilometres from my home.It takes about twenty-five minutes to get there.I don't want to be late so I'm going to go to bed early in the next school year."

Although the island is small，it has a police station and a fire station.It also has a school，a post office and even a library.There are many restaurants selling food from different countries.However，there are no shopping centres so people have to travel by ferry for half an hour to get to Hong Kong Island if they want to go shopping.
