There was a big rose tree just inside the garden. The roses were white but three gardeners (園?。?were painting them red.The gardeners were flat (扁平) and rectangular (矩形的).They looked like playing cards.
They had spades (黑桃) on them. One of them was the Two of spades, another the Five of spades and the third was the Seven of spades.
"How strange!" Alice thought, and she went closer.
"Excuse me!?" she said to them. "Why are you painting those roses?"
"Well,Miss,we made a mistake (錯(cuò)誤)," Two said. "We put a white rose tree here and the Queen wanted red rose trees.
Just at that moment,F(xiàn)ive shouted, "The Queen! The Queen!" and they all threw themselves on the ground, face down.
Alice looked around and saw a long procession (隊(duì)伍)was coming towards her.
When the Queen saw Alice, she stopped and said, "What's your name, child?" "My name is Alice,Your Majesty. "Alice replied politely.
"And who are these?" the Queen asked, and pointed at the three gardeners on the ground.
Alice thought, "They're only playing cards.I'm not afraid of them." So she said, "I don't know and I'm not interested!"
The Queen didn't like Alice's answer. Her face turned red with anger. "Off with her head!Off with her head!" she shouted.
"Nonsense (胡說(shuō)) !" Alice said loudly.
The Queen was very surprised. She didn't know what to say. "Don't worry ,dear!" the King said.
"She's only a child."
The Queen looked at the gardeners again. "Get up!" she said angrily, "What are you doing with that rose tree?"
"We were trying..." one of them began. "Off with their heads!" the Queen shouted.
Then she turned to Alice."Can you play croquet (槌球) ?" she shouted.
"Yes!" Alice shouted back.

One Day
One day I counted your fingers and kissed each one.
One day the first snowflakes fell, and I held you up and watched them melt on your baby skin.
One day,we crossed the street, and you held my hand tight.
Then, you were my baby, and now you are my child.
Sometimes,when you sleep,I watch your dream,and I dream too...
That someday you will dive into the cool, clear water of a lake.
Someday you will walk into a deep wood.
Someday you will run so fast and so far, your heart will feel like fire.
Someday you will swing high,so high, higher than you ever dared to swing.
Someday you will hear something so unhappy that you will fold up with sorrow.
Someday you will call a song to the wind, and the wind will carry your song away.
Someday I will stand on this porch and watch your arms waving to me until I no longer see you.
Someday you will look at this house and wonder how something that feels so big can look so small.
Someday I will watch you brushing your child's hair.
Someday,a long time from now, your own hair will glow silver in the sun.
And when that day comes, love, you will remember me.
