An underground garbage station at Changling Village in Luchu District was put into use on 30th，June，becoming the first one of its kind in Guangdong Province.It is developed by a Shenzhen-based company，Sagncity Environment.It only covers an area of three hundred square meters，while the traditional station covers around 500 square meters.
When garbage bins arrive at the station，workers at the site will first connect them to an above-ground container，about the size of a washing machine.The garbage bins will then be turned over automatically as the waste is being sent into an underground container.

One underground container can hold 10 tons of garbage.The station which has two sets of the garbage transit equipment can store 20 tons of garbage at a time and it is able to serve 30，000 citizens.The whole machine is smart.When the underground container reaches 85 to 95 percent of its capacity（容量）a signal will be sent to tell that it is time to send the container to a final waste site.Additionally，when the smoke detector（檢測器）is triggered（觸發(fā)）or the monitored temperature is too high，the fire equipment will automatically work to make sure of safety.Noise is also well controlled at the station.The noise is little when the machine is working.
