In October，there were many kinds of activities to help us learn English in my school，such as Spelling Bees，Reading Ants，Dictionary Masters，and Singing Talents.The first one was my favorite.
The preliminaries（預選賽） of Spelling Bees were held on October 16th.Actually I didn't feel confident（自信的）because I didn't have a wide vocabulary（詞匯量）.To my surprise，I made it through to the semi-finals（半決賽）.
On October 20th，I took part in the semi-finals.After the teacher explained the rules，the competition started.My first word was "ash".Although it was easy，I was too nervous to spell it correctly.As the teacher shook her head，I felt so upset.I almost lost hope.Suddenly I remembered I could ask teachers for help.The rule saved me.I took a deep breath to calm（使鎮(zhèn)定） myself down.
